TALKS

Fey Arts 2019

It is in the Conversation Pit, a work created by the artist duo Jacent Varoym (Jade Fourès-Varnier and Vincent de Hoÿm) during the first edition of Feÿ, that the "Talks" took place this year. Located near the farm and the well in the right wing of the castle's park, the panel of discussions aroused the curiosity of a large number of festival-goers. Sitting on the ground near the large bamboo trees lent by the Baron garden centre, or more comfortably installed in the period furniture borrowed from the salons of the château du Feÿ, visitors of all ages from Joigny, Frankfurt, Lausanne and Paris were present. Architects, chefs, artists, journalists, students, publishers, graphic designers, researchers and visitors... Invited by Lou de Kerhuelvez and Andréa Losi, they all took the floor to share their projects, their convictions and often their desire to create. That weekend, fermentation (with Camille Tourny), criticism of young creation (with Camille Bardin, Samuel Belfond, Grégoire Prangé from Jeunes Critiques d'Art), collapsology (with Laure Nouhalat & Dominique Archambaud), local cuisine (with Mathieu Moity, Alexia Duchêne, Lucas Delerry, Céline Maguet, Zoé Lockard), nature and art (with Ysé Sorel, Guillaume Logé & Alexandre Silberstein), the love of books (with Federico Nicolao, Sébastien Desplat, Aleï Journal, Klima, First Laid & KD Press) or the contemporary art exhibition Bels Animals (with Indira Bérau, Chloé Royer, Zsófia Keresztes, MORPH Amélie Giacomini & Laura Sellies, Julie Villard & Simon Brossard, Alexandre Silberstein) have been discussed
Whether festival-goers simply passed by or came to rest, whether they scribbled a few notes, participated or listened, the intimate atmosphere of the Pit allowed generous, sometimes unexpected and striking exchanges to emerge from these encounters.

This year, Feÿ Talks took place in the Conversation Pit, a creation of JACENT from last year's Feÿ Artist Residencies. Invited by Lou de Kerhuelvez and Andrea Losi, who managed the Feÿ Talks in 2019, architects, cooks, artists, journalists, students, editors, graphic designers, researchers, and visitors came to visit our cozy spot and took the microphone to debate and share their stories.
Located next to the old farm and the well, we managed to set up a special atmosphere where guest speakers and visitors could meet. Seated either on the ground next to giant plants borrowed from the Jardinerie Baron or else (more comfortably) in old chairs borrowed from the rooms of the château, attendees came from a variety of age groups and places of origin.
Across the weekend, we hosted talks on fermentation (with Camille Tourny), criticism of new artistic practices (with Camille Bardin, Samuel Belfond, Grégoire Prangé de Jeunes Critiques d'Art), local cuisines (with Mathieu Moity, Alexia Duchêne, Lucas Delerry, Céline Maguet, Zoé Locquart), art and nature (with Ysé Sorel, Guillaume Logé & Alexandre Silberstein), collapsology (with Laure Nouhalat & Dominique Archambaud), the Feÿ 2019 contemporary art exhibition (with Indira Bérau, Chloé Royer, Zsófia Keresztes, MORPH Amélie Giacomini & Laura Sellies, Julie Villard & Simon Brossard, and Alexandre Silberstein), and bibliophilia (with Federico Nicolao, Sébastient Desplat, Aleï Journal, Klima, First Laid & KD Press). This random not-so-little room was a fascinating spot of intimacy. People spoke openly, and the dialogue was incredibly smooth and rich. We really hope that everyone who came and participated enjoyed their time and left Feÿ with good memories of these encounters, new Talks Friends, and food for thought. Next time, we'll definitely try to record it!
