CINEMA
Fey Arts 2019
This year, the castle's underground passages were transformed into an ephemeral cinema for the festival. Opening this second edition, the screening of Pandora began the retrospective devoted to the French director Virgil Vernier, invited by the director Chloé Bourgès in charge of the cinema section. This was followed by previously unseen screenings of films he cherished: D'Amore si Vive by Silvano Agosti, Vivre vite by Carlos Saura, Nous les enfants du XXe siècle by Vitali Kanevski, Manille by Lino Brocka and the singular Karima by Clarisse Hahn.
Virgil Vernier's films Karine, Orleans, Andorra, Mercuriales and Sophia Antipolis were shown on an old Trinitron monitor installed in the seal of the castle outbuildings. Metamorphosed for Feÿ, with carpeting and mattresses covering the floor, it invited the spectators to enter an intimate and hushed atmosphere at any time of the day or night.
Tracing the director's career through interviews and images, an unpublished edition has been published by Infini Détail in collaboration with Chloé Bourgès
This year again, the tunnel below the castle was turned into a movie theater. The projection of Virgil Vernier's Pandore on Friday night announced the beginning of the French director's weekend-long retrospective - an invitation that came from the film director Chloé Bourges in charge of the cinema department. Then came screenings of previously unreleased films loved by Vernier: D'Amore si Vive by Silvano Agosti, Vivre vite by Carlos Saura, Nous les enfants du XXe siècle by Vitali Kanevski, Manille by Lino Brocka, and the singular Karima by Clarisse Hahn.
Vernier's films were shown on a Trinitron monitor on the walls of the outbuildings of the château. Carpet flooring and mattresses were installed, creating an intimate space for visitors to watch films such as Karine, Orleans, Andorra, Mercuriales, and Sophia Antipolis at any time of day or night.
To mark the occasion, Feÿ put out a special publication in collaboration with the Infinity Detail comprising interviews and images from the director's career.
